Turning Tragedy Into Action.
On February 14, 2024, the joy of the Kansas City Super Bowl parade was shattered by gun violence. Among the witnesses was Malik, a student who saw firsthand the devastating impact of inaction. Instead of remaining silent, he chose to fight for change.
Hearts For Safety was founded to honor those affected by the tragedy and to push for real solutions—advocating for both stronger gun safety laws and life-saving emergency preparedness training like Stop the Bleed. Our goal is to ensure that schools, communities, and public spaces are safer for everyone.
Through education, advocacy, and mobilization, we aim to empower young people to take a stand, push for legislative change, and equip themselves with the tools to save lives. Whether it’s fighting for universal background checks, safe firearm storage laws, or first-aid training in schools, we believe that action can prevent future tragedies.
